Dr. Wilson Lattimore, Jr., the pastor of Chestnut Grove Baptist Church was born in Fort Benning, Georgia. He was raised by his parents, the late Wilson Lattimore Sr. and Christine Lattimore in Phenix City, Alabama. He is married to Linda Greene Lattimore and is the father of Bryan, Kelvin, and Iris.
After high school graduation, he attended Miles College in Birmingham, AL, and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work in 1975; he also obtained his Masters of Science in Social Work from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, in 1977.
Pastor Lattimore has held several positions in Social Work and Nursing Home Administration before devoting his life to full-time pastoral ministry. Pastor Lattimore answered the call to the preaching ministry in 1994 at Hill Chapel Baptist Church, Athens, GA, where he was ordained. He received further preparation for ministry at Luther Rice University, receiving both Master of Divinity (2002) and Doctorate of Ministry (2007).
He was called to pastor Chestnut Grove Baptist Church in 1996. God has given him a clear vision and strategic plan to guide His church. God has shown abundant favor to His leader and congregation as we seek to yield to His Spirit, follow His Word and be faithful.
